The Su-34 is a fighter-bomber, meaning that it is not as maneuverable as regular fighter jets, but is more maneuverable than ground attack aircraft. The Su-34 is equipped with GSh-30-1 30 mm cannon, Kh-29 air-to-surface missile systems, AA-11 air-to-air missile platforms, and S8 air-to-surface missile platforms, meaning that while the Su-34 can engage aircraft with effect, its better for the purpose of assaulting enemy forces on the ground.
